The mighty Arctic Ocean is home of many different types of fish. Just throw out a fishing line and dinner is guaranteed! Nothing tastes as good as a freshly-caught coley, eaten whilst you enjoy the views out over Varanger fjord. Cod and coley are the most common types of fish you can find here, but sea trout, halibut, haddock and redfish may also end up on your plate. Varanger fjord has the richest stocks of fish of any fjord in Norway.
Where can you fish? Along the entire shore of the Varanger fjord, you will find plenty of suitable places to fish from the shoreline. If you would rather fish from a boat, these can be hired from several places. The owner will often provide the necessary equipment. There are also organised fishing trips with professional fishermen and their own boats. Imagine the sound of a boat paddling round in the fjord while the smell of the sea tickles your nose and the breeze ruffles your hair.
